Picasa 3 is a free photo editing and organizing software by Google.  It is the best program I have found for keeping your photos organized both locally and online.  It integrates easily with your own website or blog and is totally free.

First, if you don't have a Google account yet, get one here.  Once you have signed up for a Google account, you will find many tools that they have available.  We will just focus on Picasa for now.

Second, you will need to install Picasa on your computer.  You can get it here.  When you install Picasa for the first time it will search for any pictures or videos on your computer and organize them in the Picasa interface.  It will also automatically find new photos when you save more to your computer.  Once you have Picasa installed, you can easily edit and organize all of your photos.  Once you have some albums and edited photos that you want to show off, you will want to set up your web albums.

Last, share your photos using the built in web albums.  When you are in Picasa, you will see a text link in the upper right hand corner that links you to your web albums.  It will ask you to log into your Google account.  Once you have your photos ready in Picasa, you can tag them for uploading to your web albums, both per photo and entire folders at once.  You can then easily embed your albums into any website or blog using the built in tools and instructions.

You will find many of the built in editing tools are easy to use and can be a great tool for any novice or advanced user!  Take a look at some of our photos on our Picasa web albums:

I recently stumbled upon a great resource of information .  There are sites out there that don't get indexed by the search engines and therefore don't show up on most searches.  They are listed on the "deep invisible web".

The Invisible Web refers to the part of the WWW that’s not indexed by the search engines. Most of us think that that search powerhouses like Google and Bing are like the Great Oracle…they see everything. Unfortunately, they can’t because they aren’t divine at all; they are just web spiders who index pages by following one hyperlink after the other.

But there are some places where a spider cannot enter. Take library databases which need a password for access. Or even pages that belong to private networks of organizations. Dynamically generated web pages in response to a query are often left un-indexed by search engine spiders.

Here are a few good ones:

I have just started exploring all of the wonderful tools that Google has to offer.  Everything from calendars to Chat for your website, Google has for free.  I like the way it connects all of their services that you are using in your profile as well.  I also just signed up for our first Paypal account which will enable us to receive payments via credit card.  Keep checking back for more fabulous updates to the site.
